Marchand & Sandoz - Gold Hu nting Cased - Qu arter Repeater Marchand & Sandoz, Chaux-de-Fonds, No. 33832. Made circa 1900. Fine, 18K yellow gold, quarter repeating, hunting cased, keyless pocket watch. Accompanied by a 30 cm long gold chain.
C. Four body, "bassine et filets", polished, band, cover and case back entirely engraved with scrolls, flowers and images of animals, hinged gold cuvette engraved with technical details, glazed gold-rimmed cover for viewing the movement. D. White enamel with painted radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, sunk subsidiary seconds dial. Blued steel spade hands. M. 19"', rhodium-plated, 32 jewels, wolfs teeth winding, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, repeating on gongs by activating slide on the band. Cuvette signed. Diam. 55 mm.
