Notes

Although Eberhard & Co. is renowned for its chronograph wristwatches, gold rectangular examples made by them such as this one -- especially with decorative engraving and enamel on the bezel -- are very rare. This example was possibly a special order for the famed Indian Maharaja, Chakradhar Singh (1905-1947), who assumed power in Raigarth State in 1924. A noted scholar, artist, and patron of the arts, Chakradhar Singh had a particular love for music.
