Amourette ? Oignon Watch with Going Barrel Amourette a Marseille. Made circa 1710. Fine, Louis XIV, gilt brass oignon watch with two hands and going barrel.
C. Two-body, the bezel and back chased and engraved with scrolls and strapwork, square hinge, loose ring pendant. D. Black radial Roman numerals on white enamel cartouches set on a gilt brass chased plate, inner enamel half-hour ring, outer Arabic five minute numerals on white enamel cartouches. Blued steel tulip and sword hands. M. 42 mm, frosted gilt full plate, divided Egyptian pillars, going barrel, verge escapement, three-arm steel balance, short spring, pierced and chased foliate balance cock, Arabic regulation scale with blued steel pointer. Movement signed. Diam. 57 mm.
