Dead-Seconds Compteur Militaire Swiss. "Montre à Secondes Independantes à Trois Mouvements". Made circa 1835. Extremely rare and fine, 18K gold, two-train, jump-hour, independent dead-seconds Compteur Militaire pocket watch with provision for jumping with different speed. To be sold without reserve
C. Four-body, "forme collier", back with engraved foliate monogram, flat engine-turned band, bolt at 4 o clock for start/stop of the dead seconds, pin at 6 for change of the jumping speed. Hinged gilt-metal cuvette. D. Silver, engine-turned, aperture for the jump hours at the top, eccentric minute and dead-seconds chapter below, aperture at 7 for indications of the number of jumps per minute. Gold lozenge hand. M. 44 mm (20'''), frosted gilt, two-train brass caliber, cylinder escapement, three-arm gold balance with flat balance spring, index regulator. Diam. 50 mm.
