Verneaux ? Dumb Quarter- Repeating Watch Verneaux a Paris, No. 1267. Made circa 1760. Fine, Louis XV, 18K gold and enamel, quarterrepeating à toc pocket watch with a gilt-metal chatelaine and gold coin fob.
C. Two-body, Louis XV, the bezel decorated with and engraved repeated pattern, the back with a monogram of interlaced "C's" beneath a Vicomte?s coronet on a royal blue guilloche enamel oval ground, border of green champleve enamel leaves, outer border to match the bezel. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, large Arabic five minute numerals. Gilt Louis XV hands. M. 32 mm., gilt full plate, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm steel balance, flat balance spring, continental cock with polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial, repeating on blocks in the case activated by depressing the pendant. Dial and movement signed. Diam. 39 mm.
