Hamilton Watch Co, Lancaster, Pa, Grade 2974B, No. K721, made for U.S. Navy Bureau of Ships (No. 187, S.H.), circa 1940. Fine, chromium plated nickel, keyless military watch with special balance, in original mahogany fitted box.
C. Three-body, ?bassine et filets?, reeded bezels, threaded bezel and back, detachable cuvette. D. White enamel, bold upright Arabic numerals, outer minute ring, sunk center and sunk subsidiary seconds. ?Bâton? blued steel hands. M. 16s, nickel half-plate, ?fausses côtes? decoration, 17 jewels, lever escapement, Hamilton monometallic balance with screws and patented ?Elinvar-Extra? self-compensating Breguet balance spring, micrometric regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 51 mm.
