Guex - Pensez à moi, Gage d'amitié Guex a Paris, No. 19364. Made circa 1790. Very fine and rare, 18K gold and enamel, pearl and rose-cut diamond-set pendant watch with matching chatelaine, key and seal. Accompanied by the original gold-tooled leather fitted box.

C. Two-body, "Directoire", the back decorated with translucent royal blue enamel over engine-turning with the applied diamond-set words "Gage D'Amitié", split pearl-set bezels. Chatelaine: single crest-form panel decorated en suite with the applied diamond-set words "Pensez a moi", 3 matching chains; for the watch, seal and key. D. White enamel, upright Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions with fifteen-minute Arabic numerals, winding aperture at 2 o'clock. Gold tapered serpentine hands. M. 38 mm, frosted gilt full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, brass balance with flat balance spring, continental-type cock with polished steel endplate, silver regulator dial. Dial and movement signed. Dim. Length 200 mm. Diam. 47 mm.
