Outer: two-body, the back set with a painted on enamel portrait of a young lady holding a book, royal blue enamel and gold paillon border with paste-set border and foliage, band engraved with repeated pattern, paste-set bezel. Inner: two-body, ?bassine? polished with deep back. D. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track with five-minute Arabic numerals. Paste-set elaborate hands. M. 31 mm, hinged, frosted gilt full-plate with pentagonal baluster pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance with flat balance spring, single-footed cock with ruby-paste endstone. Dial and movement signed. Diam. 40 mm.
