Joffroy ? Dumb Quarter-Repeating Watch Joffroy à Besançon (Swiss). Made circa 1760. Fine, Louis XV, 18K gold, quarter-repeating à toc pocket watch.
C. Two-body, "Louis XV", bezel with chased stiff-leaf repeated pattern, engineturned back with central rosette and border to match the bezel. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and large Arabic five-minute numerals, winding aperture at 2. Gold Louis XV hands. M. 32 mm., matte gilt, full-plate, turned pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, continental cock with polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial, repeating on the inside of the case activated by depressing the pendant. Dial and movement signed. Diam. 41 mm.
