Lieutaud - Quarter-Repeating à Toc Gold & Enamel Watch Lieutaud à Paris, No. 753. Made circa 1780. Fine and rare, Louis XVI, quarter-repeating à toc, 18K gold, enamel and rose diamond-set pocket watch with outer giltmetal and shagreen protecting case.
C. Two-body, the bezel chased with foliage highlighted with green enamel leaves and white enamel dots, the back overlaid with translucent pale green guilloche enamel, central champlevé enamel rosette with rose-cut diamond border, outer border to match the bezel. D. White enamel with radial Arabic numerals, outer dot minute divisions and Arabic 15-minute numerals. Gold Louis XVI hands. M. 32 mm., matte gilt, full plate, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, continental balance cock with polished steel endplate, silvered regulation dial. Movement signed. Diam. 40 mm.
