Wirén - Spring Detent Deck Chronometer Johan Wirén, Saint Petersburg, No. 91, movement made by Kullberg, the case hallmarked London 1878-79. Very fine and rare, silver and gold, deck chronometer with Earnshaw?s footed spring detent escapement, free-sprung helical balance spring and power reserve indication.
C. Three-body, ?bassine et filets?, polished with gold hinges. D. White enamel, bold radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds, power-reserve indicator at 12 o'clock. Blued steel spade hands. M. 49 mm (17'''), frosted gilt full plate, 17 jewels, ringed cylindrical pillars, fusée and chain, Harrison?s maintaining power, Earnshaw-type spring detent chronometer escapement, jeweled locking stone, cut bimetallic compensation balance with peripheral meantime and temperature adjustment screws (balance staff broken), free-sprung blued steel helical balance spring with terminal curves, diamond endstone, jeweled to the third wheel with screwed chatons. Dial and movement signed. Diam. 62 mm.
