Cupid & Psyche French, the bronze in the manner of Pierre Philippe Thomire (1751-1843). Made circa 1850. Very fine and impressive, Empire-style, bronze and yellow marble, 8-day going, hour and half-hour striking mantel clock. To be sold without reserve

C. Yellow veined marble clock case with arch-top, hinged palmette cast bezel, the fine bronze figures of Cupid & Psyche enbracing above, the front with applied bronze perfume-burner mount, rectangular marble base with applied swag and lamp mount, raised on paw feet. D. Gilt engine-turned with painted radial Roman numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. Circular gilt-brass, going barrels for both trains, anchor escapement, silk suspension, outside countwheel striking on a bell. Dial indistinctly signed "Gal?.. No. 93". Dim. 71 x 48 x 19 cm.
