Anonymous, Swiss, No. 14454. Made circa 1900. Very fine and elegant gold, enamel, diamond and pearl-set, bezel wound and set ball form pendant watch with a matching gold, enamel and diamond detachable brooch pin. Accompanied by a fitted box and letter attesting provenance.

The present lot is accompanied by a letter from a previous owner dated April 18, 1959. The letter describes how the watch was rescued during the Boxer Rebellion by a confidant of the Empress "Hsii," likely a reference to the Empress Dowager Cixi
