Lugrin - Répétition à Quarts Automates Edda Watch Co., (A. Lugrin), Swiss, ?Répétition à Quarts et Automate?, No. 77268. Made for the Russian market circa 1890. Fine and unusual, large, hunting-cased, keyless, quarter-repeating, 14K pink gold pocket watch with automaton.
C. Four-body, ?bassine et filets?, engine-turned covers, the front with shield-shaped cartouche with flower and foliate border. Hinged gold cuvette with prize medals and technical details, glazed gold-rimmed cover over the movement. D. Red translucent guilloche enamel with gold paillon Arabic numerals, outer gold paillon dot minute divisions, subsidiary seconds, translucent blue guilloche enamel with varicolored jacks in peasant costume striking bells at the top. Gilt Louis XV hands. M. Cal. 21???, matte gilt, 15 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance-spring, repeating on gongs activated by a push-button in the band. Cuvette signed Edda Watch Co., movement signed A. Lugrin under the quarter hammer. Diam. 57 mm.
