Gold Padlock Pendant Watch Swiss, probably Geneva. Made circa 1860. Fine, gold, enamel and rose-cut diamond-set form watch in the shape of a padlock with a loop top that opens and a hinged cover concealing the dial. Accompanied by a gold and turquoise-set watch key in the form of a lady?s hand.

C. Four-body, polished, spring-loaded cover with a rose-cut diamond-set keyhole over royal blue guilloche enamel, hinged back. Hinged gold heart-shaped cuvette. D. White with painted black radial Roman numerals and outer minute divisions. Blued steel hands. M. Heart-shaped, gilt brass bar calibre, 8 jewels, cylinder escapement, plain gilt three-arm balance, flat balance spring. Dim. 45 x 27 mm. Thickness 12 mm.
