Notes

The hour angle system was invented by Philippe Vanhorn Weems of the Annapolis Naval Academy, who trained Charles A. Lindbergh. Longines developed the Hour Angle watch, which was invented by Lindbergh, shortly after his transatlantic fl ight of 1927. It allowed pilots and navigators to calculate their longitude.
