THE PASSAGE OF LOVE Swiss, unsigned. Made circa 1880. Fine, key-wind, minature timepiece with five hinged brass and red enamel panels depicting a courting couple guided by a cherub. To be sold without reserve

Five panels, each two-piece, hinged, decorated to the front with fl amboyant scrolled borders, turned feet, the fi nely engine-turned side panels in translucent red enamel featuring a young man and lady to the left and right at rest watching a cherub, in the preceding panels they are each standing following the cherub and the central scene courting together with the cherub above. Reverse with movement cover secured by 2 screws. D. White enamel with blue radial Roman numerals with gilt dot intervals, outer gilt dot minutes. Gold Louis XV style hands. M. 31 mm, gilt brass bar caliber, cylinder escapement, fl at hairspring, plain three-arm balance, index regulator. Dim. Total 20 cm wide, 9 cm high.
