LEPINE QUARTER-REPEATING WATCH Lepine, H.ger du Roi a Paris, No. 2953. Made circa 1825. Fine, quarter-repeating, 18K gold, painted and champleve enamel pocket watch.
C. Four-body, chased fl ower and shell bezel, pendant and border, the back cover decorated with champlevé painted on enamel fl owers including a rose and peony, chased gold leaves, black enamel ground. D. Silver, engine-turned with a sunray pattern, radial champlevé Roman numerals, outer minute divisions. Gold Breguet hands. M. 34 mm., matte gilt, jeweled cylinder escapement, plain three-arm balance, blued steel fl at balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by depressing a pull-and-twist piston in the pendant. Cuvette signed.Diam. 40 mm.
