SWISS ? EMPIRE FASHION Swiss, No. 12034. Made circa 1815. Very fine and rare, 18K gold, quarter-repeating pocket watch with automaton Jacks in Empire costume.

C. Three body, Empire, polished with reeled band and polished bezel, the interior of the back cover with engraved dedication. Gilt-metal cuvette hinged to the movement ring. D. Small white enamel with Breguet numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel hands. "Martin- Martine" type varicolored chased gold Jacks of a lady and gentleman dressed in Empire costume on each side of the dial on a royal blue enamel background with gold paillon decoration, appearing to strike the hours and quarters on two bells. M. Gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock, repeating on two gongs activated by depressing the pendant. Diam. 58 mm.
