LONGINES, THE CUPID FAN Longines, No. 836712. Made circa 1900. Fine and elegant, 18K gold, painted on enamel and rose-cut diamond-set, hunting-cased, lady?s keyless pendant watch.

Four-body, 'bassine et fi lets', polished, the front cover decorated with a painted on enamel scene of cupid on a fl ower branch within a fan-form border surrounded by rose-cut diamond-set fl owers, the back cover decorated with engraved gold leaves on a blue guilloche enamel ground with border to match the front. Hinged gold cuvette engraved with ?Grand Prix Paris, 1889? and engine-turned border, the interior with engraved inscription. D. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic fi ve-minute numerals. Gold spade hands. M. 11''', gilt with wavy-line decoration, 15 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued-steel fl at balance spring, index regulator. Diam. 32.5 mm.
