Two-body, Directoire, with rose-cut diamond-set bezel, the back decorated with a fi ne painted on enamel scene depicting Juno, the chief goddess of Olympus, being drawn in her chariot by two peacocks, translucent royal blue guilloche enamel background, lozenge-shaped rose-cut diamond-set frame, outer four color translucent and opalescent guilloche enamel border with gold paillon detail. D. White enamel with upright Roman numerals, outer minute divisions. Gold beetle and poker hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, fl at balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece, silver regulation dial, repeating on a bell in the back of the case activated by depressing the pendant. Dial and movement signed. Diam. 50.5 mm.

The enamel decoration of the case of this watch is unusual in the use of four colors of guilloche enamel including opalescent colors in a single panel, which would have required great skill to achieve.
Philippe Terrot (1696, Pont-en-Royans, Dauphiné, France - 1781, Saconnex, near Geneva) A refugee in 1700, he arrived in Geneva and offi cially obtained Swiss naturalization in 1732. He took Jean-Pierre Thuillier in partnership between 1735 and 1750. They created high quality gold watches decorated with enamel and porcelain, and also religious clocks.
