HESSEN, THE LOVER?S TRYST Hessen a Paris. Made circa 1785. Fine, large, gilt-metal, painted on enamel and paste-set pocket watch with outer protective case.
C. Two-body, Louis XVI, by Leton, paste-set bezel with engraved outer border, the back with a painted on enamel scene of a young couple in a landscape, royal blue and gold paillon border, outer engraved border to match the bezel. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer dot minute divisions and Arabic fi fteen-minute numerals. Paste-set white metal hands. M. 44 mm, gilt-brass, full plate, cylindrical pillars, fuse and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, three-arm brass balance, fl at balance spring, continental balance cock, steel endplate, silvered regulation dial. Dial and movement signed. Diam. 62 mm. including outer case.
