QUARTER-REPEATING WATCH WITH RUBY CYLINDER ESCAPEMENT French, No. 4079. Made circa 1825. Fine, quarter-repeating, 18K gold pocket watch with English-type ruby cylinder escapement.
C. Four-body, forme collier, polished bezel, coin-edge band, the back engraved ?grains d?orge?, central vacant cartouche, slide on the band for locking the repeating. Hinged gilt cuvette. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track. Gold Breguet hands. M. 49 mm., matte gilt, 8 jewels, standing barrel, Englishtype ruby cylinder escapement, three-arm gold balance, blued steel fl at balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by depressing the pendant.
