Edox "Geoscope Gold President" 42. Made in the 1970's. Fine and extremely rare World Time, self-winding, center-seconds, water-resistant, 18k yellow gold wristwatch with two crowns.

C. Two-body, polished, logo on the case back, screwed-down bezel, hooded lugs. D. Bearing the map of the world in polychrome lacquer, divided into 24 time-zones, the cities being represented by red dots, on the edge, GMT-EAST-DATE LINE-WEST indications, outer matte silver ring with applied orange indexes, concentric, revolving black and white ring dial in 24 hours with a black index ending with a gold star for indication of the second time-zone. Luminous orange hands. M. Cal. 2774, rhodium-plated, 21 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock-absorber, self-compensating fl at balance-spring. Signed on case and dial. Dim. 42 x 42 mm. Thickness 13 mm.

According to the consignor, only 3 pieces were made in solid 18k gold to be given as gifts to dignitaries by the Shah of Iran. It seems that these pieces were ordered but were never given. This is the fi rst time that a gold Geoscope has ever appeared at auction.
