AUGUST ERICSSON DETENT CHRONOMETER DECK WATCH August Ericsson, St. Petersburg, No. 453. Made circa 1890. Very fine and rare, mahogany-cased, 30-hour, keyless, deck chronometer with spring detent escapement, free-sprung balance and power-reserve indication.
C. Three-tier mahogany deck box, brass twist and lock bezel with reeded edge. D. White enamel with bold radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds and power-reserve dials. Blued steel spade hands. M. 47 mm., 22''', frosted gilt, jewels in screwed chatons, fusee and chain with maintaining power, Earnshawtype spring-footed detent escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with gold temperature and meantime adjustment screws, free-sprung blued steel helical balance spring with inner and outer terminal curves. Dial and movement signed. Dim. 12.5 x 10 x 5.8 cm
