MATHEY TISSOT, LA CAPTIVE Mathey Tissot, Swiss, ?La Captive?, case number 13536. Made circa 1920. Fine and unusual, sterling silver and black and red lacquer purse watch with concealed shuttered dial.
C. Rectangular with two panels that fl ip open by pressing the spring-loaded sides of the case to display the dial, which can be tilted and held by the panels, making it a desk clock, decorated with black lacquer and red stripes, ring suspension loop. D. Salmon with inset steel Arabic numerals, outer minute track. Steel index hands. M. 8???, rhodium plated, fausses cotes decoration, 15 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, bimetallic compensation balance, fl at balance spring, index regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. 46 x 33 mm.
