TIFFANY & CO. MINUTE REPEATING PERPETUAL CALENDAR SPLIT SECOND CHRONOGRAPH Tiffany & Co., Swiss, No. 5113. Made circa 1885. Very fine and extremely rare, minute repeating, 18K gold keyless hunting-cased pocket watch set with pearls and precious stones with moon-phases, perpetual calendar and split-seconds chronograph. Accompanied by original fitted box.

Five-body made by Jeannot & Schiebler, "bassine", polished, the front and back covers set with pearls, sapphires and other precious gems and with 2 sets of initials and the writing U.S. ARMY, the inside with inscription of R.B. Watkins and U.S. ARMY, the oversize crown set with diamonds, 18K yellow gold cuvette with a photograph of an American soldier on the inside. D. White enamel, radial Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions, outermost chronograph track divided into fi fths with fi ve-minute red Arabic markers, four subsidiary sunk dials for days of the week, date, months of the four year leap cycle and subsidiary seconds concentric with phases of the moon aperture. Gold spade hands. M. 42 mm (19???), rhodium plated, 36 jewels, straight line calibrated lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance with Breguet balance spring, ?swan-neck? micrometric regulator, repeating on gongs through activating slide in the band. Signed on the movement. Diam. 51 mm.
