GRIESBAUM SINGING BIRD BOX Karl Griesbaum, Germany. Made circa 1950. Fine, gilt-brass singing bird box. Accompanied by a Griesbaum bird-form key.

C. Rectangular with applied fi ligree scroll decoration. M. Singing bird movement: going barrel, rectangular belows, Griesbaum whistle, the bird rotating and moving wings, tail and beak, controlled by a rack and two cams mounted beneath the barrel, gilt-brass grille engraved with foliage, activated by a slide in the side of the case. Dim. 106 x 69 x 47 mm.
