REUGE SINGING BIRD BOX Reuge, Sainte Croix, Switzerland. Made in the 20th century Fine, keyless, gilt metal and painted on enamel singing bird box.

C. Rectangular, turned feet, canted corners set with garnet stones, ivory coloured plaques to the sides with fl oral motifs, front and reverse with painted oval central scenes, the upper with ivory coloures plaque with radial fl oral designs, the bird cover with painted on enamel scene of two ladies and a gentleman. M. Rectangular brass, going barrel and rectangular bellows, the revolving bird with moving wings, tail and beak, controlled by two cams mounted beneath the barrel wheel, gilt brass grill pierced and engraved. Dim. 118 x 65 mm x 48 mm high.
