Fine, rare and substantial,18K gold hunting-cased, minuterepeating, double-dialed, keyless pocket watch with moon phases, double date calendar and special gravitational locking device for the covers.
C. Three-body, bassine et fi lets, polished, the front cover with blue red and white enameled coat of arms, reverse cover with blue and red enameled monogram. D. White enamel on the front with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic fi ve-minute numerals, subsidiary seconds at 9, large vertically lined inner moon phase aperture with lunar calendar on the edge. Blued steel spade hands. Annular white enamel rear dial with black Arabic chapter on the border for the dates, inner days of the week in French, the center exposing the movement. M. Nickel-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 18 jewels, raised barrel arbor, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut and compensated bimetallic balance, blued steel Breguet overcoil balance spring, index regulator. Case numbered, hallmarked and stamped AB for London casemaker Arthur Baume. Diam. 54 mm, thickness 18 mm. Approx total weight 159g.
