A superb copy in contemporary binding with paper-covered faux burl boards, Raised bands, tooled in gold with burgundy spine label. Marbled endpapers with inscription and 1852 date on free endpaper. Discreet bookseller's sticker on margin of front free endpaper. Text and plates are clean and tight. Slight superficial edge crack on fore-edge of front cover. Paper cover worn off edges of corners. Top corner of front cover slightly bumped. An exceptional copy.
