Drum Clock Unsigned, German, circa 1570 with later movement. Interesting single-hand two-level drum clock with additional drum-shaped alarm mechanism.

C. Drum-shaped fixed top forming the dial, friction-fit back cover engraved with foliate pattern, the band also engraved with same pattern, molded base and top. D. Radial Roman chapter ring with twelve round touch knobs for night reading. The center engraved with 12-ray wind rose. Single iron hand. M. Later, round, 40 mm, two-tier, steel, rectangular columns, C-shaped stackfreed, verge escapement, circular foliot, alarm activated by a lever protruding from its case and activated by the hand. The original detachable steel alarm mechanism with three spring-loaded legs in a case similarly shaped and decorated, a bell at the top. Dim. Height 110 mm, base diam. 50 mm.
