Two-body, ?bassine? with deep back and inward edges, back finely painted on enamel depicting Roman Charity, band with four vignettes, each with a rural scene, inside painted with a house on a hill, a tree in the foreground. D. White enamel, Roman numerals, outer minute divisions with fifteen-minute Arabic markers, winding aperture at 4 o?clock. M. 34 mm., hinged, gilt brass full plate with unusual pierced pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain steel tree-arm balance, flat balance spring, continental cock. Case signed by the painters, movement signed by J. Descombes. Diam. 41 mm.
