The Old and New Testament Willam Cory, English, circa 1620. Very rare and fine silver and gilt metal single-hand pre balance spring octagonal pendant watch with concealed dial.

Three-body, ?fermée? type, elongated octagonal, silver faceted covers engraved with Biblical scenes on each facet, outside from the Old Testament, inside from the New Testament, hinged to gilt brass frames engraved with a repeated pattern, silver rectangular band panels also engraved with Biblical scenes, gilt brass pendant in shape of winged angel?s head, loose ring, small silver finial. D. Hinged to the case, champlevé gilt brass Roman hour chapter with half hour divisions applied to a silver octagonal dial plate engraved with a Biblical scene. Brass ?arrow? hand. M. Octagonal, hinged, gilt brass full plate, vase pillars, fusee and cat-gut, short three-wheel train with five-leaf pinions, verge escapement, circular steel foliot, irregular pinned cock, ratchet wheel and click set-up. Signed on the movement. Dim. 43 x 32 mm. (without pendant and finial)
