Freres Bordier, A Genève, No. 44392, circa 1800. Very fine 18K gold and painted on enamel pearl-set, double cased, quarter-repeating watch accompanied by a gold and enamel matching chatelaine.

Outer: two-body, gilt brass, glazed protective cover, Inner: two-body, back with oval cartouche finely painted on enamel with a courting scene between a young man and a shepherdess, town in the background, gold paillon laurel leaf frame, border with silver paillon oak leaf decoration over dark blue translucent enamel, pearl-set bezel, band engraved in repeated pattern. Chatelaine: two rectangular panels with canted corners, lower one with painted on enamel boy watering a flower, on the other side a boy playing with a dog, gold paillon borders, borders with silver paillon leaf pattern on dark blue translucent enamel, the top panel en suite but the center cartouches with rose enamel with paillon rosettes, joined by quadrupled chain, small loop hook, lower part with enameled key, and two enameled vases decorated en suite. D. White enamel, Arabic numerals, outer minute dot divisions with fifteen-minute Arabic figures, winding aperture at 2 o?clock. Gold pierced ?Lozenge? hands. M. 35 mm., hinged, gilt brass full-plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain brass tree-arm balance, flat balance spring, continental cock, repeating on bell by depressing the pendant. Signed on dial and movement. Diam. 50 mm., length with chatelaine 31cm
