Neuchâtel, Swiss, circa 1800. Very interesting dead center-seconds silver watch with pirouette escapement.
C. Two-body, ?Directoire?, polished. D. Off-white with eccentric Arabic chapter ring set at the lower part, outer minute divisions, central seconds with outer seconds divisions and fifteen-seconds Arabic markers. Gold pierced spade hands. M. 47 mm., frosted gilt full plate, cylindrical pillars, cylinder escapement with brass escape wheel set with a wheel which meshes with a pinion on a large five-arm gold balance causing it to rotate over 360o. Punched inside the case with Neuchâtel mark. Diam. 60 mm.
