C. Three-piece, ?bassine?, engine-turned. D. White enamel, bold radial Roman numerals, outer minute ring. Heavy blued steel ?spade? hands. M. 44 mm (19 1/2???), frosted gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, going barrel, cylinder escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring, single-footed cock with diamond endstone, escapement jeweled and capped, Viner?s winding system activated by pulling the knob in the pendant. Signed on dial and movement. Diam. 57 mm.

Charles Viner Apprenticed in 1802, he was a Liveryman in the Clockmakers? Company and is recorded as having worked up to 1840. The company continued after his death. The pull-wind was first applied in 1790 by Lepine; Viner used it as late as the 1860?s.
