The Telescope Unsigned, probably Geneva, circa 1800. Impressive and very rare 18K gold, gilt brass and enamel telescope.

C. Four concentric sliding cylinders, the outer one decorated with alternating bands of translucent scarlet, black and blue enamel forming symmetrical patterns with engine-turned rings, each cylinder finished with a reeded edge, the eyepiece at the end of the inner cylinder and the outer lens decorated with ovals of dark blue translucent enamel with translucent scarlet enamel centers over flinqué, the whole on azure enamel background. The second cylinder engraved ?J.J. Cambaceres à Napoléon, Mai 10, 1800?. Dim. Length when open 54 cm, when closed 18 cm. Diam. 43 mm.
