"TABLEAU À MUSIQUE WITH MUSIC AND VESPERS" Mons. Wurtel, 12 Boulevard Bonne Nouvelle, Paris. Made circa 1860. Very fine eight day going, hour and half-hour striking musical clock painting, with echo on the hour, and vespers, the music playing one of four tunes every hour or on demand.

C. Gilt wood framed oil on canvas, depicting a church in a rural wooded landscape with fi gures crossing a bridge. D. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track. Steel hands. M. 12.5 x 9.5 cm., rectangular, brass with going barrels both for the going and the striking trains, anchor escapement, pendulum with silk suspension, striking on a gong, additional brass movement for the two gong carillon with echo, 12 cm cylinder musical movement with four tunes playing on a single tuned steel comb. Signed on a card fi xed inside the frame. Dim. 77 x 90 cm. In good condition
