"TABLEAU À MUSIQUE WITH VESPERS" French. Made circa 1860. Very fine, 8-day going, hour and half hour striking clock painting, with echo on the hour, and additional movement for vespers.

C. Gilt wood framed oil on canvas, depicting a church with clock by an inn near a bridge, river and Alpine background. D. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track. Steel hands. M. Circular, brass with going barrels both for the going and the striking trains, platform cylinder escapement, pendulum with silk suspension, striking on a gong with count wheel on the back plate. Additional brass movement for the two-gong carillon with echo. Dim. 73 x 87 cm. In good condition
