JOHNSON Johnson, London, No. 1360. Made circa 1790. Very fine, George III, 18K gold and enamel pocket watch.

Double body, Directoire, by Jonah Mince (mastermark IM), with pale blue champleve enameled bezels and pendant, the back set with a panel of translucent grey enamel over engine-turned decoration in a sunburst pattern, concealed hinge. Hinged gilt brass cuvette D. White enamel with radial Arabic numerals, outer dot minute divisions. Gilt hands. M. Gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain polished steel three-arm fl at-rim balance, fl at balance spring, gilt brass English cock pierced and engraved with foliage and diamond end-stone, silver regulation dial. Movement signed. Diam. 51 mm.
