SPENCER & PERKINS HALF HOUR STRIKING CLOCKWATCH Spencer & Perkins, London. Probably made in Switzerland, circa 1785. Fine, silver, two-train, half-hour striking clockwatch.
C. Two-body, ?bassine?, the bezel engraved with a geometric pattern and holes for sound transmission, the back with repousse fl ower swags and border to match the bezel. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and large Arabic fi ve-minute numerals. Blued steel beetle and poker hands. M. 53 mm., matte gilt with fl ared cylindrical pillars, fuse and chain for the going train, spring barrel for the striking, verge escapement with three-arm brass balance, fl at balance spring, continental cock with polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial, striking the hours and half-hours on a bell in the back of the case. Dial and movement signed. Diam. 68 mm.
