QUARTER-REPEATING WATCH ?ECHAPPEMENT LIBRE? Swiss, No. 2786. Made circa 1850. Fine, quarter-repeating, 18K gold pocket watch with lever escapement. Accompanied by a gold-tooled morocco box and gold key.
C. Four-body, bassine et fi lets, polished bezel, coin-edge band, the back engraved with asymmetrical fl owers and foliage against an engine-turned ground. Hinged gold cuvette engraved with the technical details. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel lozenge hands. M. 43 mm., matte gilt, 10 jewels, jeweled lateral lever escapement, three-arm balance, blued steel fl at balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Diam. 48 mm.
