SPLIT-SECONDS CHRONOGRAPH C. H. Meylan, Brassus, Swiss, No. 6640, case No. 50229. Made circa 1900. Very fine and rare, keyless, 14K yellow gold pocket watch with split-seconds chronograph.
C. Four-body, "bassine?, solid, polished, co-axial crown for the start/stop and returnto- zero of the chronograph, button for the split-seconds at 11. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel with Arabic numerals, outer minute and chronograph divisions with 5-minute red Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial. Blued steel spade hands. M. Cal. 18''', rhodium plated, ?fausses cotes? decoration, 19 jewels, the center jewel in a screwed gold chaton, straight-line lever escapement, adjusted cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometer regulator. Dial and movement signed, case numbered. Diam. 48 mm.
