FRENCH EMPIRE STYLE DESK COMPENDIUM French, Paris. Made circa 1880. Fine gilt-brass and blue enamel desk clock with thermometer, barometer and compass.

C. Rectangular, gilt-brass, the top and bottom borders engraved and enameled, the columns faceted, a central silvered panel with thermometer with encompassed wire ornamental bottom, the top with openings to view the compass and the escapement, all sides with paneled beveled glass. D. Engraved and enameled gilt dial mask, the dials brushed silver, radial Roman numerals, thermometer and barometer to the right, the compass atop. Blued steel spade hands. M. Gilt rectangular plates, lateral lever platform escapement, split bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dial signed ?Made in Paris.?
