AUSTRIAN SKELETONIZED GRANDE SONNERIE CLOCK Austria. Made circa 1840. Impressive and very rare, silver, gilt and wood, 8 day skeletonized grande sonnerie clock with passing strike. Accompanied by the original glass dome.
C. Circular wooden base with 3 fl uted columns, all with silver bases and capitals, supporting the brass movement. D. Skeletonized silver chapter ring with radial Roman numerals and with engine turned details, suspended in front of the movement. Blued steel ornate cathedral hands. M. 12 cm, brass, skeletonized spring barrels with wolf's tooth winding for going and striking trains, repeating on steel gongs via 2 hammers, string suspension. Dim. 30 x 22 cm.
