BORDIER ? QUARTER REPEATING WATCH Bordier a Genève. Made circa 1780. Fine and rare, quarter-repeating, gold and painted on enamel, paste-set pocket watch.

Two-body, back with painted on enamel riverside scene with fi shermen in the foreground, blue and varicolored enamel border, paste-set thumb-piece, band engraved and decorated with champlevé enamel fl owers, bezel set with pastes. D. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track with large fi ve-minute Arabic numerals. Paste-set elaborate hands. M. 32 mm, hinged, frosted gilt full-plate with tapered pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, brass balance with fl at balance spring, continental cock with blued steel end piece, repeating on a bell in the back of the case activated by depressing the pendant. Dial and movement signed. Diam. 42 mm.
