BOITE A MINIATURE English, the enamel miniature by Christian Friedrich Zincke (1683/4?1767). Made circa 1740. Very fine and rare, tortoiseshell, gold and gilt-metal mounted table snuff box fitted with a painted on enamel portrait miniature of a gentleman.

C. Two-body, oval, tortoiseshell, the top and base inset with a small foliate engraved gold oval medallions, chased and engraved rococo gold mounts, gilt metal lining, the interior of the lid set with a fi nely painted on enamel miniature of a gentleman wearing a blue coat, white chemise, lace cravat and long curled powdered wig, gold frame. Dim. 89 x 69 x 42 mm.
