WYSS, DOUBLE FACE WITH FULL CALENDAR & MOON PHASE J. Wyss (La Chaux-de-Fonds), No. 97134. Made circa 1880. Fine and rare, 18K gold, keyless, double-dialled pocket watch with phases of the moon and triple date calendar.
C. Four-body, ?bassine?, polished. D. Front: white enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and large Arabic fi ve-minute numerals, subsidiary seconds. Paste-set gold arrow hands. Back: matte silver and gilt, outer rotating days of the week, inner date, apertures for the months with their respective number of days and moon phases. Blued steel hand. M. 40 mm., rhodium plated, 15 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, Case signed. Diam. 50 mm.
