THE PEACOCK DESK CLOCK Swiss, case No. 29468. Made circa 1920. Fine and elegant, silver, gilt-metal and painted on enamel, 8-day going desk clock, accompanied the original a fitted box.

Three-body, rectangular with shaped top, leaf-engraved band, the front decorated with ivory-colored champlevé enamel with engraved silver foliage and painted with fl ower swags, at the top an oval convex painted on enamel panel fi nely painted with a peacock standing on a branch amongst fl owers, gold highlighted tail, silver laurel frame, engineturned gilt-metal back with hinged strut. D. Matte gilt with blue champlevé enamel radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, engine-turned center. Blued steel arrow hands. M. Rhodium plated, fausses cotes decoration, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, selfcompensating fl at balance spring, index regulator. Dim. 18.6 x 8.7 cm.
